Wilton High seeks sub-varsity field hockey coaches

WILTON -- The Wilton High School field hockey programs are searching for coaches for both its junior varsity and freshmen field hockey teams for the upcoming fall season.

Anybody interested can contact athletic director Christy Hayes at 762-0318, ext. 6287.

Summer girls field hockey in Wilton

Academy International will be teaming up with Wilton Parks and Recreation to host a week-long field hockey academy at Memorial Stadium, on Aug. 18-22.

For the field hockey training camp, players aged 10-13 are encouraged to attend the 9 a.m. to noon session with players 14-18 attending the 5-8 p.m. sessions.

Renowned coaches from Canada, Holland and Britain will group players by age and skill level to customize training. Spaces will be limited. To register visit www.academyinternational.net or call 1-888-529-3827 for further details.


FCFOA seeks football officials

The Fairfield County Football Officials Association (FCFOA) is looking for dedicated individuals interested in becoming high school football officials. For those who are interested, contact Bob Newall at 203-378-9778. The classes begin on Monday, Aug. 4 from 7-9 p.m. at Flood Junior High School in Stratford.




CTFFA seeks teams

The Connecticut Flag Football Association (CTFFA) is accepting applications for the 2008 season. This league is as close as you get to the real game of football with immediate rush, two-point conversions, clock management, uniform referees and a game that allows for running as well as passing. The CTFFA is a Sunday morning, fall adult league and plays at Norwalk Community College in Norwalk from early September through December. The league plays with a 9-on-9, tackle ineligible format.

Connecticut field hockey referees needed

Applications are being accepted for new referees for the 2008 fall season. All interested candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Training will be provided. Games are played after school and on Saturdays. Please contact Donna Vavrinec at umpvav@aol.com or at (203) 527-9358.


Blue Jays Baseball hosts tournaments

The Blue Jays Baseball Club will be hosting end-of-year, three-game summer tournaments for ages 13, 14U, 15U, 16U and 18U teams near Cooperstown, N.Y. MVP trophies and medallions will be awarded.
