WESTON -- A Bridgeport was fatally injured after crashing his vehicle into a cluster of trees off Georgetown Road early Thursday morning, according to the Weston Police.

Neil Franco, 24, of Bridgeport, was traveling northbound on Georgetown Road near the Wilton line at approximately 12:25 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4. According to police, when Franco reached the Samuelson Road area, he lost control of his vehicle, causing him to strike a guardrail and a cluster of trees.

After a 911 call was received by the Weston police reporting the motor vehicle accident, police, fire and EMS units responded immediately, according to police. Franco, who was alone in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"It's tragic," said Weston Police Chief John Troxell. "Our hearts go out to the family, and we are doing our best to bring the investigation to an end."

Neil you will be missed by so many. My prayers are with your family and my heart is bleeding for your baby girl. So sad, this has hit so many people very hard. Lets stick together, keep our heads up and hold everyone we love close to us.
